Hello everyone.

One year ago I've bought Jaguar Mark IV 1.5L saloon from 1948.

The car came with two engines:

* engine that was originally in, when the car has left Coventry factory - this engine is in parts

* second engine (which is now inside the car) is from another Jag MK4 1.5L
and it works - quity loud but works.

Now... where do I start...

My first goal is building the originall engine from the parts that I have.

The second goal is rebuilding the engine which is in the car - cause it works too loud (even for a 1.5 litre Jaguar MK4)

I'm not mechanic so I will need help - firstly I want to know whether these parts are complete or not to start this project.

I've made pictures and divided them in four sections: RED, BLUE, YELLOW and GREEN.

RED Section

BLUE Section

YELLOW Section

GREEN Section

I've also recorded wideo that shows how loud the engine in the car works:

The car was in service aprox. 30 years ago!

It's difficult to separate the noises but I think I can hear a bit of crankshaft rumble, some exhaust blowing and maybe valve clearance needing adjustment. It would have been helpful if we could have seen the oil pressure. Is the exhaust leaking? If so fix that. Check the valve clearances, it should be INLET= .015" and EXHAUST=.018" with the engine hot. Check these things and get back to us.
