Ok. Firstly I will be the first to say Im electrically retarded. So these couple of question may sound silly to the enlightened amongst you.

Firstly, I have a 1948 Morris 8 E series. I`d like to put some taillights and indicators (rather than the single taillight and the 2 armed trafficators) on it. Can I put 12v taillights and indicators on the car an just find 6v bayonet style bulbs that fit the units I buy?

Secondly, as the car is positive earth, and most lights are earthed by screws that pass through a metal plate in the unit and then screwed to the body, will the lights still work? Presuming they work with the 6v bulbs instead of the 12v.

Once again, sorry if they sound like stupid questions. But this is my first 6v/positive earth car, and Im still trying to get my head around how it all works.
Cheers
Craig

1) Yes, providing you can find 6v bulbs that fit obviously

2) Bulbs aren't bothered which way round the electricity is so yes that will be fine.

Electricity is actually very simple once you have your head round it. Best rule is, if it doesn't work it is probably the earth connection.
