All three cars look like new, is she giving the Jag a kick?

Neither the Minx nor the XK appear on the DVLA (Can't read the Anglia's)

It does rather look as if she's lost patience.

OK chaps, I was too lazy to look up the Anglia but you pushed me into it, and it doesn't exist either.

Art, I think that young lady is a big hitter and she's kicked it out of shot!

Looks like one of those "what happened next" pictures, where a Shelvoke and Drewry dustcart suddenly appears and removes the drivers door! Laughing

Hi Peter
When you do a vehicle check do you use the DVLA site which insists on knowing the make, or do you have somewhere that will do it just on the reg number?
I tried askmid for the sports car, L245VNF, I saw last week but it doesn't show on there.

Hi Penman,

I have been using the DVLA site that requires make and number but I have in the past had a free app for my smart phone that was happy to give details just from the number. Unfortunately in recent times MyCarCheck.com just keeps searching and never finding even on perfectly valid taxed vehicles.

Hi Peter,

Remember the full restoration (and more) on the XK120 in Gullane a year or so back? Well it's re-appeared...

The Humber has a clear well defined workmanlike shadow, the Jag's is faulty, the lady has none.
Jaguar does not look straight enough to be a new one, more of a resto.
Does the jack need to be in the driver's doorway and the door open? Do they have a check-strap?

Hi John,

The Humber is a Hillman Minx but I think you are right about the shadows. Maybe creative glamour.

Hi Dave,

Yes, they've worked on the car and worked on its history!

She is a ballerina.

She reminds me of 3 young ladies that stayed at my mothers guest house in the early sixties while they were in a show at our local Embassy theatre.

Do not remember a Jaguar XK120 on the driveway.
