I've got one of these, exactly the same thing but a bit smarter. Does anyone know when they were made? I assume they are a generic design and not for a particular car |

They were made for Austins of the mid-late 30s. They fitted inside the boot of (I think) several Austin models.
One turned up on the TV bargain hunt the other day and Tim Wonnacott thought it might be worth hundreds of pounds, although it was for sale for only £20.
I have one also and I couldn't get £20 for it on ebay. I suspect more of them may have been saved than the cars they fitted in. _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |

I saw Bargain Hunt too and I thought crikey, I've got one of these! I think he was wrong.
There are lots of posh ones on ebay with fitted suitcases inside for big cars, I think these were generic. It's quite solidly made actually.
Currently it is doing a good job as it has stuff of some sort in it |
