OK Rick I'm posting pictures of the interior of the car in pairs per forum post so as not to create too large a posting entry!

Interesting to see the photos - very nice. I'm surprised how different the cars are, even though they're different configurations (2dr vs 4dr) and three years apart, they were still put together by the same coachbuilder and were both based on the 15 running gear.

I've just finished repairing & rebuilding the door cards. 76 years of the British climate meant that the bottom 10 inches or so of all of the door cards was rotten through, riddled with woodworm plus the carpet had also rotted. So I removed all of the door cards (tricky!), cut away the rotted and wormy stuff, made up new sections to fit, treated the sections, found matching carpet which was edge-stitched for me by the same people that did the floor carpet, fixed the carpet to the new sections, mounted edge clips to aid future removal and re-mounted the door cards.

Though I say so myself, the results are quite pleasing.

Best wishes, Dave B

The old girl has been in demand this year at weddings of family and friends. Here she is arriving at my son's wedding (me driving the bride to be) in August this year.

Best wishes, Dave B

Hi & welcome Dave Smile

Lovely pair of Daimlers Cool

And yes, that Edvard Turner V8 is a master piece Cool great little V8.

Mine is fitted to a 4 speed manual box, with a overdrive.
This makes it do 12 kilometers from 1 liter of petrol, when I cruise motorways.

Hi Jens, thanks for the kind comment. I envy you your MOD version of the V8 saloon. My auto version is fantastic around town, but when I drive at 60 mph I am revving around 3500rpm so get poor fuel economy!

Yes the engine is quite amazing, and the sound that it makes is truly wonderful!

Best wishes, Dave B

and yes, that sound the small V8 makes, is amazing .

Regarding mods to my engine = its more a case of it being fitted to a different car Wink
