Can anyone point me in the direction of a reliable distributor supplier?

The hand book for my Hillman Minx series lllb says I need a Lucas DM4P2

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - the original is a wreck - not even servicable

Have you tried the Distributor Doctor - he may be able to suggest an alternative if he cannot fix it

Are you sure it's not a Lucas DM2P4? If so a very common unit fitted to loads of vehicles.

Dave

PS
Just looked it up, it is a DM2P4 Lucas part number 40492A/B Smile

Sent it off in May - just found out it will take 8/9 weeks.

Any suggestions where I can get a replacement? going to miss all the local shows!!

Is there an alternative to the DM2p4?

had the same problem a week or so ago
speak with accuspark

http://www.accuspark.co.uk/index.html

They list one suitable for the minx.

I fitted one of their distributors a couple of weeks ago following ignition failure, Delivered next day for £58 (complete distributor). Took about 10 mins to set up and get running perfect, to be fair, best £58 spent on the car so far.
