Hi Everyone,
Dear old Lottie, might not have a twist in the frame after all!!!
We have a pro restorer coming along to see her Tuesday night. he will confirm, yes or no.
Early indications to him, are looking good!!
So fingers crossed!
As we said Lottie is now a very rare car just, 1 of 2, left in the UK.
I would love to share images with you all on here, but i cant seem to do it?
I have tried several times!!!
Admin could you attach them for me?
Thanks everyone
Dave, Elizabeth and of course "Lottie". |

Lottie looks very restorable. As far as 'frame twist' is concerned, I am sure that the right person would be able to solve that.
Some years ago I ran into something with a 1970's Ford Falcon that resulted in compressing the right front frame area, around and beyond the front suspension. The mechanic who was asked if it could be fixed said he could do it easily. After I collected the repaired car, I asked how difficult it was to straighten out the sub structure. He explained that he chained the front of the car onto a solid object, then drove backwards. That did the major part of straightening, he then had to get the final kinks out before a front end alignment.
The car drove perfectly after that and I had it for quite a few years more. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

In the absence of any other accident damage, and assuming it's not. Like a spiders web underneath, it doesn't look too costly to sort if there is some chassis misalignment
I'll qualify that; ref my comments on the " Poor Lottie" thread regarding measuring chassis alignment with some basic tools, in our exam we had to measure up a brand new Mk2 Astra GTE, the car looked perfect, yet when measured something looked wrong with the n/s rear...hmmm brand new car , not even registered yet appears not straight ? Turns out the car was nicked whilst in the compound at the Ellesmere Port factory, chased by the police and the thief clipped a curb at speed, damaging the chassis . Vauxhall can't repair the car and register it as new, so it's donated to a college. I wonder what happened to that car as it could have been repaired
