Unfortunately two of my Luvax dampers have spring a leak from the nose bush. I cannot seem to find anyone who stocks these rubber bushes or something else that will fit. I am sure someone else here must have done this recently and wondered if anyone knew where or what I could fit? or even the dimensions of the bushes?
I am currently operating on a total loss/Exxon Valdez principle and am seen frequently in low light scuttling under the car with a syringe and jam jar of 140 weight oil Smile

Many Thanks

Have you seen this from the Wolseley forum? There's a lot of info in post No.5.

Thank you, yes, I have even contacted a couple of posters direct, but the only person I could find that had replaced the nose bushes was in Australia and used a local firm (he could not recall who)
It is only a source for the bushes or the exact dimensions I require

Hi Tim,

This man could probably do it. He is good and has a long waiting list.

Just an update - http://www.stevsonmotors.co.uk/ supply nose bushes made by them selves (and improved over the original) - also very helpful with advice
Now to fit the bl**dy things Smile

I have just been dismantling my Luvax shocks in what I thought was preparation for refurbishment and refitting. However, I have been hugely disappointed to find the threads of the alloy back plates fused in place (much like some alloy sump plugs I've come across) resulting in a poor outcome for refitting I would think. If anyone has any experience of this or has any bright ideas I would be very happy to hear it.
Many thanks, Tim

Probably not fused or corroded but there are steel pins inserted locking them in place. Not sure why you would want to remove back plates, as there is nothing serviceable inside. I have just rebuilt two pairs, so if you want any advice - just PM me. Remember a picture tells a thousand words Smile

Timstopp could you advise me how to refurb my Luvax dampers on a 1934 Minx.
Kind regards, Derek
