Starting to restore my grandfathers 33 chevy coupe. I can't get the new King pin bushings installed. Is there a trick?

Hi Roy,

Welcome to the forum.

Not on a Chevy but a Jaguar, I found that I could push them out or in using a large vice and an appropriate diameter socket spanner to bear on the bush.

They still need to be reamed with a pilot reamer after fitting.

Peter

Good advice from Peter. The king pin reamer could be difficult to find. Paul at the American Truckshop, at Strensham near Worcester has some American king pin reamers, if he has one that is suitable he may hire it to you. You can contact him through his website The American Trucksop, but he is not theasiest person to deal with
