Following on from my comment in the wheel refurb thread, has any1 fitted a leather steering wheel cover to their classic? Seen a company that makes them to order, look lovely quality and would give a nice feel and smell as well as that period accesory look.
Any1?

Got one on my old Rover P3, the wheel is so skinny it actually makes my fingers ache and gave me cramps gripping it on long runs so I got a lace on leather wheel cover which made it much more comfortable. Nice tactile feel to it too. Back in the day I recall my dad never had a car without one. Steve _________________ If the world didn't suck we'd all fall off |

My Landcrab has a leather steering wheel cover that has been fitted since the car was new in 1969 (I have the receipt for it) It now has a nice patina and is very comfortable on the hands. |

Strange to relate...... My Landcrab also has a leather steering wheel cover! I fitted it several years ago due to a little high frequency vibration which comes through the steering wheel from time to time.

One of our members fitted one recently to her Riley 1.5 and rates it very highly. I was given a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel for mine and I love it, the rim is surprisingly grippy and very comfortable to hold. _________________ David

I had the same problem as P3steve.
The steering wheel on my 1971 VW Kombi was so skinny that my finger tips hit my hand when I gripped it! I had an upholsterer make and fit a leather glove to the wheel and it became a much nicer car to drive!
