|
|
I had been wanting to buy a rod braked bike for some time then after talking to a guy who had a bicycle shop and whom himself was very keen on old cycles of any age and form, I was sold a couple.
I decided on restoring the worst one for the time being as the other one could be used as is!
Just need to polish it and by the way that seat is just a temporary fix, it'll be getting a proper one when funds allow!! |

Thanks guys.
Not the most efficient braking system but its ok, not used it much yet but planning on going for a ride on it next saturday!
I will start some work on the other one when I find some free time, and I now also have a second raleigh chopper which needs some work too!
I will take photos of the other bicycles and post them here too, if its of any interest to anyone. |

Had forgotten about this thread, will take some pics of the other bikes and even this one with the new seat its now sporting!!
Used this bicycle a couple of times and its so relaxed and comfortable, much better then my mountain bike.
I'd now like to get hold of an old racing bicycle. preferably pre 60s, but that will be hard to get seeing as the most common ones over here where these rod braked bicycles at the time!!! |
