Hi
As part of the research I have been doing lately I have found this:-
It is a licence for a gentleman in Surrey, on researching the 1911 census I find him aged 41 and described as a Motor Driver(Domestic) in private service and his wife, unusually for that time, was not employed by the same family but instead showed no employment status whatsoever, they had 2 children aged 9 and 4. I think we can infer from this that chauffeur was a respected and relatively well paid position. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.
