Long time since I had any news to share.

Well yesterday I finally met up with the guy I met last summer, and who said he had 2 of the rare 6" Rose Petal.

My original plan was just to make a spare wheel, but the "almost as new" condition has changed this.
I will now strip the others for paint, and have the edges polished to match the 2 "new" ones.
I will also have the centers painted Black as pr original spec.

hmmm nice, love rose petals!!!
I'm not sure on black wheels on a black car though!!
The ones you have do look nice and contrast nicely with the deep black paint on the car!

I know it might come out dark ? but Black centers were original, so I will try that look for this summer (can always paint the centers again.

Dont think they will be TOO dark thou, as the rim polish up very nicely.

Did some cleaning last week =

Think there will be plenty of "bling" left, with the rim & the chrome centers.

Wheel rims on the original grey painted wheels have now been skimmed in a Lathe.

All Grey paint is now gone, and the edges cleaned up.
A few small marks are still left, but we didnt want to skim too much off the edge.

It ended up with 5 clean wheels.

Today we started the polishing of the rim.
Here is the 2 first =

Now we need to do 3 more, and then its time for the paint.

Tuesday,s classic car event by Toldboden in Copenhagen harbour was to become a very special one for me.

The no 1 dream of mine for many years came true.

After 33 years my cars first owner Erik Brandt was reunited with the car.

Suddenly he stood there looking at her, with He´s new Lady friend, and their dog.

He was very pleased to see it again, and soon started telling some really funny stories &
anecdotes about its life in the "fast lane" (can not be posted here)

He also told stories about the famues popstars they knew, and that it was after He saw one of their WP,s that He wanted one too.

He visited the W&P premisis atleast one time, during the nearly 6 months it took them to make the car (this was W&P,s best year) so there was a long cue of clients waiting for their cars to be finished.

This was when the Brandt couple had shop,s and a flat in London, so Park Royal was close by.

Later on the car was taken back to Denmark, to enter a posh life in the high society circles, with chauffeur in White uniform & all.
I called Steve Burkinshaw (coachbuilt registrar in Engalnd) to tell him the story, and he said that this is the first time, a coachbuilt Mini has been reunited with its original owner.
That is all coachbuilt Mini,s included = both Hoppers - Radlers and WP,s .

Hi Rick, and thanks, I will miss this car, she was SOO original.
Grey rubber floor mats, which had been protected by original Volvo coconut overmats from new, so they were in VERY good condition Cool
Original front & grill,s - original seats, with the cloth in the middle etc etc.

Original Volvo accessory = LM Ericsson fuel cap, hard to find item.

Original interior.

And she was a early B18 = built in week 1 - 1962 .

She went to a good home thou = the guy owned 4 classic unrestored motorcycles, with lots of Pat & Tina.
He would only repair enough to get the car road worthy & through MOT.
