This year's Tour of Cheshire takes place tomorrow, just waiting for the spectator info to be uploaded to their site.

I popped down to Tilstock for a few "on the road" photos, then back up to Beeston Cattle Market for the last stage. I heard the venue changes next year as the cattle market is to be developed.

Tilstock

Beeston

I've got a load more but to be honest they all look quite similar after a while.

Last year we went to Beeston, but this time decided to head over to Shrewsbury and the livestock market tests. The cars ran through twice, so there were plenty of photo opportunities for junior and I during the afternoon.

If I had to pick a favourite car, it would probably be the Sunbeam Tiger which sounded wonderful and looked like a proper handful Cool

Below, a mix of 100 photos taken by us both.

That looks like a pretty good venue for shots Rick, I'll have to have a wider look next year perhaps. Interesting how many cars are the same as those from last year, though not necessarily with the same drivers. And the field must have spread out (or thinned out) by the time they got to Beeston for the last go - I stuck around until nothing had arrived for quite a few minutes, and stuff like the Avenger and the red BMW '02 hadn't arrived by then. That said, they were quite spread out at Tilstock - nothing for ages, then six or seven cars all together.

Yeah it was a good location. The surface isn't as broken up as at Beeston, but there's still plenty of tail-out action. The parking is directly alongside the test area.

I don't know if it's the same every year, but the timing worked well for us too. The first run through commenced at 12 midday and ran until about 1.30pm. The second go, which used an altered course through the cones, commenced at 2.15pm, giving us time to nip down the road to Tesco to use the facilities inbetween both sessions Smile There are also a garage and one or two eateries close by.

By comparison, the two runs at Beeston are at either end of the day. Sorry to hear that the site's being re-developed though, so is the auction centre going in its entirety?

I don't know, it was just a comment made by the chap in the Viva. I noticed recently that the old Beeston Castle pub has gone, though I forget whether that's a building site or actually built on, and didn't pass it on Saturday.

I have half an eye on this, but I think we're going to the NEC Restoration Show on Saturday.
