If I wore the trousers in my house this would be in my yard by now!
Although it would convert into a great camper I would be interested in knowing more about it's history. Does anyone have any info? What is the electrical equipment designed to do?

Handy bit of kit agreed, I thought of your RL interest when I saw it earlier Smile

Interesting but I cringe at the thought of the fuel consumption........ Would 5mpg be about right?

This would be an ideal candidate for an LPG conversion and many RLs have been converted. I would also consider swapping the petrol engine for a Diesel but for my severe allergy to the fuel. Whatever; I would gladly fork out the running costs for what I have in mind.

Rick; I believe I could make a really great off road type camper out of this RL and when finished I'm sure her Ladyship would love it but sadly she has no imagination and (quite unfairly) no confidence in my abilities.

Perhaps it's the prospect of foreign adventures that scares her!

REME. Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers.

Likely to contain all things to be used as a mobile workshop. Maybe a 415v Colchester lathe, work benches, storage units, pillar drill and compressor. Storage for a wide range of spares and repair.

I had family who were in the post war REME and got to look in these trucks several times.

I very nearly bought one earlier this year, glad I didn't to be honest as they are far from practical 8 mpg on a good day about 14 MPG on LPG.
Diesel engines are hard to find and expensive
I would still have one if I had the money though as they are fab
