Front to Rear alignment check. Left Front wheel rim to Left Rear wheel rim and then compare with Right side. Even a slight difference will tend to push the vehicle away from a straight line

Crabbing wouldn't pull, it would just run straight with slight diagonal stance.

That's what I thought, because if the rear axle is pointing off centre then the driver will naturelly turn the steering wheel until the front wheels are now parallel with the rear and the car drives straight.

But then everything is asymmetrical so it could well still pull.

Do you think old fashioned measuring methods of string and straight edges are accurate enough to get a picture?

When I did a vehicle body restoration course practical, we had to measure a vehicles geometry using nothing more than markers (or chalk), plumb-lines, string and tape measures. It requires a flat surface, so add a spirit level to the list, but the result is remarkably accurate.

Hi
Just a comment.
This is a 4x4.I have a similar car and have been told that the tracking has to be carried out on bespoke 4x4 equipment.
Could this be an area to investigate?
