Morning all,

If ever I go looking for a vintage saloon, something like this highly-original Willys Knight would be a contender, complete down to the original '29 licence tag/plate on the back. Parked up in the dry since 1949, does originality get much better than this? The only downside is that it's in the USA ...

What are sleeve valve engines like to live with? I've seen the occasional Daimler with that design of motor, but little else.

That's one nice motor, Rick. I've always likes Willys cars, especially the 30's and 40's ones. Something about the basic design is quite appealing.

The one you link to seems like more of a sophisticated machine. The sleeve valve engine sounds interesting, apparently they don't require the same amount of maintenance like valve grinding and adjustment that conventional engines do. However a rebuild if required could be expensive as the sleeves are white-metaled in some engines.
