I'm trying to find some vintage style overalls. I'd like some like the ones Historica do ( http://www.historicaracewear.com/vintage-race-overalls/farina-vintage-race-overalls ) but at a more realistic price. Don't want zips. Browny kind of khaki colour (like the warehouse coat Arkwright wore in Open all hours!) Army surplus places used to do them but no more. Any ideas anyone?
Cheers

Maybe keep an eye on ebay, I found a set of "Arkwright" colour overalls on there quite a few years ago that I recently dusted down again. They have old-style buttons, secured with split pins from behind.

How much cheaper they'd be I don't know, these for example are £40

Can't help, but you remind me of the requirements for mechanics at the Revival. They all have to wear white, and as far as I can discern many of the "mechanics" have changed occupation and become "painters". Their white overalls are far far cheaper than Goodwood ones!

White just seems like a silly colour for overalls. Those on ebay Rick are just what I'm after but they are too big for me. The search goes on.

100% cotton? I can't imagine Arkwright shelling out for that... Laughing

Saw a few good 'period' type overalls at Beaulieu at the weekend. All seemed very pricey. I liked an Arkright style jacket overall that had Regent patches on it.

You could get one of these old Swiss military work jackets, they are made of heavy herringbone-pattern cotton. They are actually old items too, not reproductions and are very cheap.
