Hi all.
Watching an episode of American Pickers the other evening, we saw the two presenters negotiating over a pair of Ford Model T skis that turned up in a huge outbuilding. The skis replace the front wheels, enabling the car to traverse deep snow.
What other weird and near-forgotten motoring accessories have you seen, read about, or owned?
The ski attachments look like this, shown here as part of a full Snowmobile conversion:

Not so much accessories, but I have always been fascinated by the transformable bodies fitted to a few vehicles in the the teens and twenties. Van bodies that converted into tourers for the family days out, or this Carrm Body from 1917, which converted from a five seat tourer to a 2 seat 'sports' car:

This one is obvious.
You need to look at the windscreen in front of the driver for this one.

Not actually a dipole, but an under wing aerial.

Might need a bigger car for medium and long wave.

Can you all remember these. I used to run a wire from a transformer out of the living room window, across the pavement on to the car. I raked out some of the joints in the paving slabs to put the wire in. Bit of a twerp if someone else parked outside our house though. So had clip the light on to the battery then.
Good old day's eh.

Hi
Never had a problem running the single bulb off the car's battery, and we all had starting handles back the anyway.
Manufacturers started to introduce the single side sidelight system ie Ford's put the indicators on with the engine off which I found on a hired Mk2 Consul or Zepjyr.
Both ideas seemed to drop off the radar when parking without lights within a 3o limit came in and a single light was/is illegal in any other limit area. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.
