Overdue for an update!
I struggled for more than an hour trying to refit the handbrake shoe return springs, and after consulting someone who has worked on them all his working life,
removed the prop drive flange and within 5 minutes it was all done!!
Next job was to repair the radiator panel:
I had an old shelf bracket laying around which was just the same size as the inner angle that had all rotted away....

More to follow...... |

Next job was to fit the rear wiring loom.
As you can see in this photo, someone had previously rewired it outside of the chassis, laziness I guess, or more likely the work of the same garage that glued on those chassis repair panels?
There is an entry point for the loom just under the bulkhead:
and exits at the rear here:
Using some household "twin and earth cable" I was able eventually to pull the wires through:
More to follow soon hopefully |

I've finally caught up with your exploits.
You have had some busy days Steve.
Are you painting panels as you progress? If so, what type of paint are you using? |

Finally got round to a little welding job on the door sill supports today, been putting it off for 3 months, and it took me 3 hours!
This was all that remained where the sill support met the bulkhead,
so it was time for a little fabrication with some angle iron.
Little repair piece made up:
Offered up:
and welded in place:

Thanks Fluffle Valve, when might we see a thread on your 1972 Landy?
After all it has 9 years more qualifications to becoming an Old Classic Car than mine surely? |

I should start a thread, I really should.
For the past 5 years or so, I haven't done much with it except use it. It has been so reliable I haven't had the need to play around with it.
However, I have this Easter started a part strip down on the front end. I'm fitting a 200tdi in replacement for the old 2286cc petrol engine. So now you have mentioned a thread, I think I'll start one. _________________ Series 3 1972 LWB Truck Cab Pick Up. My daily drive. |

A nice bit of fabrication.
And I like the outdoor workshop...just the way I do most things these days. |
