Rick, I am a very keen follower of classic commercials especially anything Rootes or early ERF. This is a late 40's C.I. and I have never seen a photo of it, restored or in this condition. Did you note a registration number? I can trace its current state from that. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

If its the one I think it is, I last saw it under a tarp in a yard near Whitchurch in Shropshire. It didnt look very healthy.
I'm guessing it will have been owned by a gent by the name of Rigby. A relation of Hackneys in Sandbach |

It looks like they're loading up the driver with moonshine and saying,
"It's only a 25% downhill, the boats roped on, what could go wrong?" |

I would guess the military vehicle is C.M.P. Canadian Military Pattern. It would be either a Ford or a Chevrolet |

Before 1953 all the vehicles had to be shipped on by boat to this little valley.
The locals built their own road out of the valley to join up with a long dirt road to the interior of BC during 1953.
Check out on google "The Bella Coola Hill" lots of switch backs and it keeps a lot of the bozo out.
cheers
