Morning all,

Ooooof how could something this nice, be left to rot outside for so long? If nothing else it goes to show that there are still interesting cars lying around, waiting to be rescued - although whether this one could ever be resurrected is another matter!!?!?? Shocked

Strange to think that only 6 or 7 years ago (certainly since I bought my aston in 2007) you could buy a very nice 190SL for around £20-£25k. I remember my son saying that they were sleepers because everyone wanted a 300SL so the 190SL would increase in value. Shame he didn't buy one there and then but he was right.

Only 5 hours to go...

Will it meet its reserve?

Top bid of £16,200 failed to meet reserve; I would have thought with the wrong engine and lots of bits missing that was plenty ...

The 190 SL was always the regarded as a "hairdressers" car, because it,s 4 pot engine was not powerful enough for it to be regarded as a sports car.
Hence, they were not looked after as well as the 300,s,and are therefore now rare in good usable condition, discounting the "showroom classic" types.
It,s worth whatever somebody is prepared to pay for it.

Although I dislike Mercedes in general I always found the 190 SL a very good looker.

Same as the Volvo P1800. Again a good looker but not much of a sports car when you drive it.
