Hi
I would have thought it would have the engine which Bristol later took on for their 400s etc.
BUT
There is more than one type shown here.

Some are similar to the Bristol engine and others look like the one on the ebay car.

True enough! It looks a lot more boring than the push rod hemi that the Bristol used.

Yes, that's the correct 55bhp engine for a standard 327 - just a boring push-rod ohv also fitted to the 326. It was only the 327/80 which used the cross-pushrod 328 engine which was adapted postwar by Bristol.
