Afternoon all,

Once again I'm amazed, who - on owning a splendid '29 Daimler landaulette - would just park it in their mum's garden and leave it to go mouldy?

Some people eh?!!?

Very sad. I suspect someone who didn't realise how bad the body was, didn't spot the wrong engine and paid over the odds for it.

Also why do people fit new tyres when they have no intention of using the vehicle any time soon?

Surely in that state £14k is a little optimistic?

“not the original engine have all the parts restoration job cash on collection not for the fant harted .”

I think the above demonstrates both ignorance and stupidity.

The asking price only serves to confirm the problem.

Very few people have any experience of Daimler cars let alone an understanding of the original sleeve valve engine, Wilson pre selector gearbox and fluid flywheel. In this case a non original engine would not necessarily be a disadvantage but the sad state of the coach built body would be very expensive and time consuming to restore.

I would think the Daimler, if restored, could possibly earn it's keep as a wedding car. Originality for that use would not be an issue.

I would have thought £5000 would have been more realistic?
