Hello
My name is Wendy and I am from Canada. I am restoring a vintage mid century caravan that was built by two brothers who came from England. It is called a Golden Falcon. It has a refrigerator in it that I have been able to track down as being made in Bognor in North West England. I am looking for information on it, and hoping that someone on here has a refrigerator made by the same company. It is in good working condition, however I am unclear on how to switch it from electric to gas. I would also love to see photos of a similar one, as mine is missing the interior shelves. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

a photo of the rear might help it could use a standard Electrolux exchanger
and don't meddle with the piping as the old fridges used AMMONIA as a cooling fluid

Thank you for the info. I will be a couple of months till I pull the refrigerator, as I am still removing the aluminum from the exterior. When I pull it out I will post a photo. I have been able to determine a couple of things.. There is a snap off wood section above the refrigerator. I need to get up on a stool, but I am guessing the pilot light may be up there as it is not on the rear.
I have also learned that with some of these old refrigerators the gas would automatically switch on once the electrical was unplugged. I am not sure if thats the case with mine, but I am hoping it is so. I have also tracked down a guy in our city who has worked for the RV repair company for 40 years. I am hoping he remembers these units. |
