Those "thingies" with male / female (either or both) attachment through steel and bonded to rubber. From time to time I have seen OCC posts where people are looking for them. I was searching E-Bay looking for "anti backlash springs" for our Quilting machine and came across them.

Search "bobbin isolators". Many are from China and I have no idea if they are any good.
