A Fordson sales agency is recalled, thanks to an invoice dating to 1940 for a newly-purchased Model N tractor in Welshpool.

The history of the Tildesley family can be found towards the bottom of this link

A search of Company House records reveals the demise of the company by way of compulsory liquidation in about 1986. The company had been mortgaged to the bank since the 1970's. Interest rates in the 1980's rose to such levels that there were many companies who could no longer generate enough profit to simply cover the mortgage.
