OK, not on Ebay but for auction soon.
Wonderful, wonderful car.
However they say - a restorers dream. Please do NOT restore this.

Of all the barn finds I've ever seen, that is the one I'd really like to own. I'd leave it just as it is - well maybe empty the ashtray but apart from that, nothing, just enjoy it.

Completely agree, a wash and clean out and get it roadworthy and it would be perfect. I'd love to own it, but expect it will be well outside my budget!

Make it a matching pair with this S-Type!

Wouldn't you think, that if they're expecting to get in excess of £12,500, they could have actually washed the guano off before taking the pictures? Especially since he's owned it for 18 months. (I wonder how little he paid for it).
This smacks of lazy greed.
Lovely car but I wouldn't buy it from this seller.
I note it's another find from a barn in Whitchurch. There seems to be so many great finds that come from there. My own Siddeley was a "barn find" from thereabouts in the 80's. How many more exist yet to be discovered? I think when I retire, I might just take a three week vacation and go covertly barn hunting!

I get the impression nowadays that , in order to maximise saleability, and, as a consequence, financial value/gain, one should in fact ensure that one's vehicle is incredibly dusty, dirty, and far from clean.

Exactly the opposite to what one would normally do, when selling, ie washing it, polishing it, maximizing its appearance?

Possibly, being dirty, it can be labelled as a 'barn-find' [whatever that is?]....as it makes it more desirable?

Is this a trend? Or, am I imagining it?

Don't clean it,and then the buyer cannot see any defects Laughing

I'm curious to know how the car was used up until 1972 without ever passing an MOT Rolling Eyes

This is a photo I took at an event at Thirlestane castle in the Scottish Borders about 18 months ago.
This is a 1929 RR 20/25. It was found in a hotel in Aberdeenshire. It had lain in a shed since the '60s.
The new owner has made it mechanically sound but intended to leave it as it is otherwise.
In my view it is far more interesting as it stands and I hope it is not restored.
