Hi all,

On Saturday we headed over to Llangollen for a return visit to the town's motor museum, located approximately one mile from the town centre. I'd not been for years, and junior was making his first visit.

It's a museum well worth visiting if in the area, the exhibits are a mix of vehicles owned by those who own and run the museum, plus a selection of cars and motorcycles that belong to others. Some clearly were very well tended to, although there were also plenty of flat tyres on display.

Highlights were the vintage Vauxhall tourer, the immaculate Standard, the rarely-seen Alfa Romeo Montreal, and a fascinating home-built vehicle called the Douglas Hartley special (I wonder if this is the same chap, Doug Hartley, who used to run a bicycle shop in Hale, from where one of my childhood cycles came from?).

Here are a few photos. One interesting feature is the autojumble area, where quite a selection of early parts are on sale.

Indeed, they've had a move-around!

I love "disorganised" museums, but when I visited this one, I felt that a few less exhibits would give more room to view them.
Good effort, though, and worth another look.
