Hi all,
Murphy's Law struck today - I ordered new top and bottom rubber hoses for the MGB. An hour or so later I popped out to the garage and had a root through a few things in the car's boot, only to (re)discover two new Kevlar hoses that I'd forgotten had come with it.
Opinions online appear to be divided regarding the longevity of new Kevlar hoses, vs new rubber hoses.
Does anyone have any opinions on which are likely to last better?

I've got some of the Kevlar ones on the Firenza, and have noticed that they're cracking quite badly around the clip, where they're pushed over the bead in the casting on water pump, outlet etc. They have been on the car for several years, though, I think more than ten. So maybe a rubber one wouldn't crack, but then maybe it would not last in other ways. |

I have a similar experience to Mike. The Kevlar is a reinforcing element only, you still have rubber. the Kevlar replaces the old cotton reinforcement so ought to be better. |
