You may have noticed that the LHD car does not feature semaphore indicators like the RHD version. The brake lights couple as flashing indicators on LHD models. The 4/44 - a Gerald Palmer design - has the XPAW engine as found in MG midgets of the time (designated as XPAG). The ubiquitous B series 1500 engine as fitted to the 15/50 is better suited to this car and the original (rather under powered) 1250 cc unit is much in demand among MG enthusiasts. Purists may be horrified but I would be tempted to make the change.

No, the engine is not the same as fitted to the MG Magnette ZA; that was a 1500. The peculiar thing is that the Wolseley 4/44 was originally fitted with the 1250cc unit very similar to the XPAG unit found in all T series Midgets from the TB onwards. Even the TF featured this engine (along with a 1500) but these days the value of a T series engine is probably enough to finance (or partly finance) the restoration of a 4/44. Fitted with a B series engine, in my opinion, these are nice cars to drive.
