Good evening everyone,
I'm about to fit a sender unit to a (baffle less)fuel tank that up to now hasn't had one. Which is the best orientation for the swinging arm and float of the unit?

Cheers and thanks in anticipation. Tony.
Very Happy

Hi
I don't know about orientation, front to back or side to side, but, if the tank is symmetrical in shape try to get the float as close to the centre as possible.
It will then stay in a near constant position when accelerating, braking, cornering or climbing/descending hills.

Thanks for that Penman,

We're thinking along the same lines. I just wanted to know if anyone had any practical experience on the matter. Cheers, Tony.

Not sure when, but later models had a system that slowed down the signal between the sender and the readout.

However, logic would put the float as close to the center as possible.

Reducing the sensitivity. I'm not going to throw away the fuel guage as it is "age related", i.e. it looks 1930s ish.

Cheers all, keep your thoughts coming. Cheers, Tony Smile
