I went to the local village show today, it was advertised as having a classic car display today and has been posted a lot on Facebook with local car clubs.

Lovely sunny day and venue yet not a single classic vehicle turned up! Such a shame.

I do think only advertising on facebook has been one factor in this, so many of our friends don't use computers let alone FB!

This happened to anyone else on here?

What a shame that no one turned up. I had an experience that is the other side of the coin.
A few years ago a local church was holding a summer fete and I was asked to organise a small display of classic cars as an additional attraction.
I spoke to a few friends who agreed to come and about 12 cars were expected.
However, the word had got round and the cars kept coming.
There was just enough parking space to accommodate them but for a while I was in a panic in case we were overwhelmed.

Very sad that Tetbury Classic Car show was washed out, the school that held it will have lost money (for a good cause) and so will the stands. Not many turned out and the weather was vile.

Modern classics are the lure these days too and there's no denying some are pretty stunning.

It looks like an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.

I didn't show today for Scorton Game Show, I have been away in the motorhome so haven't been near the car for a fortnight, completely flat battery (electric fan malfunction). Parked nose in to the garage and I wasn't pushing it 80ft back down the drive so I could get jump leads on it. All charged for Fairhaven Lake, Lytham St Annes tomorrow.

I was asked by the club if I was interested in raising money for charity by showing it at one of the Chris Evans Carfests. I received the paperwork which specified:-

1. An entrance fee of £150 was required

2. Entrance was to be effected by 8am at the latest and I could not leave until 7pm.

3. I agreed to show the car for the three days.

4. Arrival later than 8am could lead to exclusion from the event.

The paperwork was very useful for lighting the bonfire.
