Excellent! The images can be improved with a bit more brightness and contrast too.

There used to be a pair of chassis/cab VKs in a museum in Connecticut, one was petrol, the other a (VKD) diesel version. That's the only 3t diesel from that era I've heard of.

I don't think that's the Dodge; it's the transporter for one of the Altas, and looks more like a Bedford to me.

I concur, and possibly "I can spot the "JGG" at 50 miles", AKA "Rick" may well agree.

What a great film, it's not the Dodge but I wouldn't be surprised if it was at that meeting somewhere. The hunt for old footage never ends Smile

Thanks for pointing me to the film though.

I recently had the tyres & tubes on the trailer swapped over (one of the original inner tubes let go with an almighty bang one day). As the trailer was on the drive, it seemed like a good opportunity to photo the two old stagers together.

I found on Flickr a few photos of the Alfa in the Donington Museum, October 1989.

If anyone here is registered with Flickr, would they mind dropping the photographer a line, to see if he also took any of the truck?

thanks, RJ

Hi Rick
I've asked the question.

I also did a search using Dennis Poore as the search terms and found these.

Great, thanks for that. I've seen most of those other photos before, although not that exact angle of the Manx GP.

The owner of the photos dropped me a line just now, he checked but alas has no photos of the Dodge. Ah well, there must be some out there during its stay in the museum!?

thanks, RJ

Am currently touring in Montana and came across this.

Well, I seem to be incompetent at uploading images from my phone. Might try again when I get home.
