Hi all,

Observant forum-ers will know this vehicle as it belongs to one of us, and was mine (as a car) around 16 years ago.

Austin continued with the Devon-type A40 pickup during Somerset saloon production, so this is one person's interpretation of how Austin might have created such a vehicle (perhaps inspired by the larger A70 utes that did go to market in Australia).

My personal opinion is that it probably would have looked better if he used separate rear wings, and made the bed narrower (between the wings). As it is now it comes over as quite bulky.
That said, I admire the craftmanship gone into it and the fact the car has been returned to a respectable specimen.

I'm not sure about it, it does look too wide as the rear. The original picks ups are lovely little vans.
