I had to find out the threads per inch and diameter of a threaded hole in a very aukward spot.

I managed the crest size of the threads with a 'very near' but the T.P.I. had me stumprd until
"A CUNNING PLAN".

I found a suitably sized bit of wood (An old iced lolly stick) and wound? it into the threads. On removal I had the perfect indentations of the threads on the lolly stick to check against the thread guage.

This might help someone in a similar predicament.Idea
