Here are a few photos of how she is at present, it's not me in the photo it's my friend Neil.

She is in storage at the moment in my friends barn, I hope to make a start on the repairs this year.

She had a lot of repairs underneath done by the previous owner, he bought it in 1961 at about 6months old, we think it was probably a dealerships demonstrator, the repairs were all riveted in position which is a bit of a blessing as there is no grotty welding to grind off, just a lot of drilling.

My friend Neil has been restoring cars to concourse for over 40years, mainly he is into A30/A35 cars vans and pickups. This car will be done mainly by me under Neil's supervision. she will be put on the road in an as is body work condition and I will continue with the paint and body at a later date at home.

Excellent, thanks for sharing the photos on here. The front wings look ok (are they original?). It's clearly popular with the local pigeons too!! Smile

She is pretty original all round and low in the mileage dept. the interior is good as well, the few bit if trim needed I have also got, well thanks to Neil, he bought a good interior locally from a guy breaking one at a very reasonable price Very Happy

We have to deal with the pigeons now and again but it is only a storage shed the main workshop is just across the way from it.

Hi
How low on the mileage scale?
I notice it appears to have Gold Seal replacement engine.

Ahh a modern one (only joking, mine's a '60)

Have you joined the A40 club? It's a bargain really, and they re-produce all manner of handy bits and pieces.

I have been in and out of it a few times over the last few years but currently out, there is quite a close tie with the Austin A30/A35 Owners Club with several members crossing the divide, quite a close relationship with parts which helps I suppose here. I will probably re-join this year when work commences.
