The trike has the rear wheel on the centreline. straight forward so far! In the event of a rear wheel puncture, it may be that scrabbling among the dead cats and broken beer bottles at the side of the road will have to be undertaken to position the jack.

The possibility of a screw jack with a long extension/operating shaft pushed into the required position may do the job. Idea How about a hydraulic cylinder permanently in place in the boot to raise the back end?

As an ex crabfat rigger, the theory and implentation of such a system wouldn't be much of a head scratcher, but where do I go for the bits and pieces of a suitable size?

Over to you knowledgeable persons.

Cheers, Tony.

Hi
Have we seen pics of this trike?
Is it FWD or RWD?

Is the rear end light enough to use a set up similar to a M/bike centre stand ?

Good evening Penman,

Tricycle format two wheels at the front, one at the rear, front wheel drive. So all there is at the back is a wheel and brake unit hanging off the end of the chassis which is of tubular construction.

If you watch this, you may get some idea of the layout. Your comment on a m/c centre stand has given me a germ of an idea. The only bother is the memsahib is hinting that once it's on the road she and her girly chum may go out for a pub lunch! ! ! Will ehr have the ooomph to lift the back end .

Cheers, Tony.

Hi
That looks similar to one I saw at the M/cycle museum at Jct 6 M42.

I wonder if they know if there was a jack arrangement originally.

It looks as if you wouldn't need a straight lift because a bike c/stand uses a forward or backward movement to push it over centre.
On this it would just be wider, and need enough of a lift to cope with the rear wheel drop when the weight is taken off it

How do you access the rear wheel to change it?

Apart from the interior which will be red (to match the wheels) that is hopefully what ours will look like but with aeroscreens untill we can aquire or make the hood frame.

Good morning Alanb,

when we bought the trike inside the boot was an imense curved construction from plywood which took up most of the room in the boot. I obtained the original blueprint for the wheel cover and knocked one up with the aid of a welding genius chum.

How I wish I could pop photo's on here ! !

Cheers, Tony.
