It sounds from the story to have been continually modified during its lifetime. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

That's what appeals to me about it.
Good use for a redundant Ford cab?
Plenty of nice black smoke as well.....[I like diesels that can poison the grandkids......spent 25 years, often doing early shift on buses.......starting a Gardner up for the early drivers ....just 'got on with it' as they used to say? Hot sweet tea of the bus depot kind usually cured any ill effects.]

A yard full of Cummins engined ERFs starting up on a cold morning was a sight to behold. |

I have a theory that particulates from modern Diesels are more dangerous than the black smoke from old engines. You can at least see the smoke and avoid it ! |

Given that a huge number of folk are busy puffing away on E-fags, I cannot see the issue? |

This might be of interest. The car is a 1941 Ford Business Coupe modified by a Californian artist in the style of a forties tail dragger. They sloped down at the back like a speedboat rising out of the water and they got fancy trim, extra chrome and fender skirts.
This is the custom interior my son has designed and built for it. He imported the car.

This is what the White Yellowstone tour bus might have looked like originally.
This one has a body by Bender & Co. |

Here’s one of the Taildragger finished and ready to tour France and the Alps.
It’s a pretty incredible thing to see on the road and more elegant than the original though huge and 12mpg. |
