I've just bought a rather nice old bakelite starter pull knob that I would like to use to replace the new shiny plastic one I have currently. The knob has a small vestige of cable hanging out of the end and I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever re-fitted a cable to a knob and have any tips? I am assuming that the cable is soldered in and the old one can be heated up and pulled out and the new one re-soldered in. As always any help gratefully received.
Thanks,
Tim
