That's a nice opportunity...however, being Coys, I suspect M25 inflation to have an impact. |

...yes, but then again the 15% buyer's premium must deter some of the competition I would have thought. |

Offered by the original owner, coming from a deceased estate ... the mind boggles!
Whatever, there's no way that's going to sell for £2,000; more like £6-7,000, even more if the bidding goes mad. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

Agreed on both points Mike, why if its been with the original family that long would you choose to sell and in that condition it will sail over the £2-4k estimate! _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Yes Mike. Some of these Auction Houses treat punters as if they came up in the last shower. That car would need to have terminal rust and no engine to sell for a song...and like you say if it is as honest as it looks it could go high. The competition (I think) will come from dealers who will have access to a body shop. I suspect the next time you see it, the car will look like a two year old. |

It would be a shame if a dealer would get hold of that MG, all that patina would be lost in the persuit of profit. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

This has been relisted and has a location.
Oak Acres Farm, Parkhall Rd, Somersham, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE28 3HQ Directions
Tel
01487 841206
The Buy it Now has also been reduced to £5300 although the strange starting price suggests that the listing was not made in the UK.

It's been busy in Vulgalour land so I've not checked in for a while. Some nice offerings here, that Nash is already on our radar and we both really like it, so we're keeping half an eye on it for the future, because who knows?
Quite like that Daimler posted a little while ago with the engine diagram, that's one of the Daimlers that's a hit rather than a miss.
I've not been doing any browsing myself since I was last here, been far too busy with the continued house hunt, packing, sorting the garage, doing my day job, etc. Likely to be the case for the next few months in fact, so I might be a little less visible for a bit, but I'll try and check in at least once a month to get caught up on the other forum activities. |

There have been a few items pop up that have caught my eye. The house hunt continues, and we're at the making offers stage now, which is somewhat fraught since I've never gone through this before. Luckily the other half has.
Here's the most recent vehicles to cross my path.
This Standard is very handsome, an abandoned project but potentially a very rewarding one to pick up. I'm never quite sure what to make of a listing when parts don't come with a car but the seller "knows someone" with the parts required. Sometimes it's honesty, sometimes it seems like a way to get more money from the buyer. These big Standards are becoming more and more appealing the more I look at them.

This one is newer, and a posher marque. An easier size to store too. I'm not fantastically sold on the wartime white paint. Other than that, the condition is very much the sort of thing we'd like to take on and it has the bonus of already being a runner, according to the seller.

Finally, a Daimler, and one of the body shapes I'm finding I'm liking more the more I see. It's much newer than the styling suggests and while I tend to avoid 'doom blue' because whenever I've driven a car in the colour it's been completely invisible to other road users, it does suit the Consort well. Preservation rather than restoration would be the order of the day on this one, it's just knocked about enough. It having the paperwork, low owners, and coming with what sounds like all the spares needed to replace anything broken or damaged, it could potentially be a very satisfying project to work through. The only downside is that it doesn't run, but that is reflected in the price somewhat.

My car hunting is very much on the back seat at the moment while I focus on work, and getting my current cars up to snuff before the move which could happen in as little as three months time. I dip in and out when I can and while there has been some very tempting things I'm finding the ones I'm most interested in are not selling quickly. In a way, being interested in the less obvious choice is good as a buyer, less good should I want to move it on afterwards. |

Think we have discussed the Standard before. I would question why the seller hasn't bought the 4 wings if he knows where to find them. I would guess this is why the car is still for sale.
I like the Wolseley. I would have no hesitation in going for it.
The Daimler. Run for the hills. |
