Le Mans Classic is behind us, but here's our usual photo of friends who stayed here:-

The E-type on the left was on its first shakedown cruise after a restoration that has taken 30 years! A few niggles as always, like the inevitable Lucas fuel pump, but all went well apart from that. |

Quite an impressive sight. |
Several TRs just went by in convoy, it must be the weather for open-top cars

Or, just making a noise? Why can't folk just go into the sunset quietly? Or am I missing the point? |

Five years ago, I seriously considered buying a TVR Chimaera, their values were somewhat in the doldrums then.
Everybody I spoke to warned me off including my friend and owner of the independent garage where I take the "moderns" for servicing and the "old ones" for MOTs.
"Buy one by all means" he said, "but don't ask me to come with you to look at one because if you're looking for unreliability, you'll get it and some................" _________________ Starting Handle Expert

My brother is a fan of them. He is now on his 4th TVR - a Chimaera 450. Previous cars have been the S4c, the V8s and the Chimaera 400.

Bumper sightings today.
The first was a white Dutch registered VW Karmann Ghia coupe driving through the village today.
Then, this afternoon, driving back from Anglesey there were multiple sightings of 1960s and 1970s Fords - it must have been a local club run because some cars had local registration numbers.
There were 105E Anglias, Mark One Escorts, five Mark 2 Escorts in Mexico, 1600 Sport and RS 2000 guises, Three late Capris but what really took my eye was a beautiful Ford Escort Mark 2 GL 4 door in metallic blue. _________________ Starting Handle Expert

My wife , our dog and I flew to Halifax Nova Scotia to buy a Sprinter van and travel back across Canada. We just got back to British Columbia and had a great time.
The Sprinter ran perfect and we saw many interesting sights. I'd like to share some photos with you.
We met some interesting car people
cheers

By way of c0ntrast, this was in Nailsworth on Friday showing how unnecessarily huge far too many cars are now.

Passed a rather tatty Commer Highwayman camper van this morning, parked up in a layby just off the main road. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

My friend parked his 1929 Austin 16 outside our house yesterday, down a dead-end back road in deepest rural France. We were enjoying an aperitif in the sunshine when we heard a vaguely familiar noise. When we looked, two quite young lads had stopped to admire the Austin - from their very tidy 1970-ish Dodge Challenger. I've never seen that one round here.
My friend said 'I should have brought the Pontiac...' |
