Aye right! You can make anything look good on film. The Jags were being driven with the handbrake on to give the Grannies a chance. Surprised

Nah, it was all those pesky cardboard boxes that they kept colliding with. Scourge of the 70's gent were yer actual large cardboard box, always popping up to thwart yer honest businessman about 'is business in 'is hooky Jaaaaag. Very Happy

I'm surprised we haven't heard from Mike C. He really doesn't like Ford Granadas!

I have only been a passenger in one and found it pleasant enough - if a little dull.

I must admit I do like a Granada, ours had 2.8i engines, sports suspension and taxi interiors. The orange stripes on white body looked smart as well...... Laughing

Although the Senators were even better.

At the end of the 1974 Christmas special of Steptoe and Son, Harold is seen driving off in an MGB registration XPP 226J which I was quite surprised to see exists, and is still taxed, to this day. Reading around online, it's been in quite a few programmes of the day.

Films like that should come with a health warning, just in case the viewer is of a nervous disposition.

In a similar vein, this family's old footage from 1969 of their granddad's Wolseley 1500 going for the chop, is interesting too.

Hi
If you really want to keep tabs on vehicles in films. Try this;
https://www.imcdb.org/search.php

It can be searched by Vehicle or by Movie/TV series.

I will come clean. I watch Talking Movies from time to time and always put the film on hold while I investigate on the DVLA whether the car still exists. My doctor says there is no cure for it.
