Aft'noon,

It'd be nice to think that this "garage find" Mk9 will go on to be restored, but the cost in doing so may make it unlikely to happen. So what for this car's future? - broken for parts? thrashed around a "demolition derby"????? Or will someone take pity on it and give it the TLC it deserves?

Its certainly a good candidate for restoration. I have a feeling it will fetch a decent price.

Looks pretty bad, very rusty. Hopefully those seats can be saved. Interesting to see what it will fetch.

Having owned a MK VIII for some years I would think that the underside of the car, the outrigger and indeed the chassis are pure lace by now. The specialists sell some of the parts needed, and they can be found here:-

But when you add it all up, then include the formidable labour charges, repainting and then retrimming plus the wooden dasboard etc. I can't see it being a feasable proposition. Unless you take it on yourself of course. This one looks a better buy:-
