Restore or preserve?

If it was in its original paint, then preservation is the way to go, but given that the factory paint was stripped off decades ago, replaced by a dusting of primer, it may as well be restored. I think. Probably.

I would restore it with no sense of guilt. Even if the factory paint had survived; unless it was exceptionally well preserved, I would restore. I suppose I just don't like to see glamorous cars like this looking down at heel, whereas a workaday car can show it's age and be all the better for it.
