Am currently in Sequoias National Park in California and came across this pair. The station was not open when we passed but is still in regular use.

About 5 years ago , I did see an old petrol pump still in use at the Middleton Pub north west Queensland . I will take a photo if I go passed again . I avoid getting fuel from old tanks that are not used very often .

Neat photo, the pumps would look great with a Model A or similar parked alongside, with a suitable '30s recovery truck (say) casually parked in the background.

Sorry Rick, the rental company didn't have any Model As available so we had to put up with a Fusion from the same manufacturer.

If you Google up Middleton Hotel , Queensland you can see the petrol pump but it is not very clear . There is also a stage coach parked out the front . It was aplace for over night stops and change of horses . [ 4 legged ones ! ]

I can show a Model A, but I don't know if the pump still exists. Photo was taken at Nullarbor Homestead, 1972, part way across the famous Nullarbor Plane in Western Australia. It was about half way across a (then ) 248 mile section of unsealed road. The fuel stop has now been built about a mile to the South as a new road, all sealed, took a slightly different route.

Some were just hand pumps , others were electric with an option to hand pump , if the generator had failed .
