I've got a display pass at Oulton Park, and am hoping to receive my pass for Cholmondeley Castle this week. Plus of course the two Gawsworth shows I mentioned before. I've been told our passes for Tatton Park have arrived, too.

Hi
I'm hoping to get to Gawsworth on Monday.
What are you taking Mike?

It'll probably be the Sportshatch - I took it to the "Youngtimers" show last year, so I'd like to swap them around this time. I'll try to remember to look out for you.

Nice to chat with Penman at Gawsworth last weekend. I now have my Cholmondeley pass, so will be there on Sunday in the hatch again.

In the back of a car at Alderford Lake yesterday, I saw a general flyer inviting the car's owner to another open day at Combermere Abbey, later in the year. I didn't see the flyer left with any other cars, so whether it's open to all or not I can't say. I've dropped the Abbey an email to find out more.

Oh, that was a nice event last time. I did hear a rumour that they were thinking of doing every couple of years, so that would work out.

Just heard back, raising money for their nominated charity:

"The event on Sunday 22nd September is open to those who come in a vintage or classic car. The event starts at 9.30am and finishes at 2.30pm and entrance is £10 per car, cash only paid on the day. Refreshments will also be available to purchase."

Apart from the 'Youngtimer' event at Gawsworth (which is past my era of interest) is there anything else on in Cheshire this Bank Holiday week of interest to us OCC types?

Just read that the 1000 Engine Rally at Astle Park has been cancelled, due to the amount of rain on the show fields. This was a post shared to the Market Drayton FoT Facebook page, although I can't see the original post on Astle's own FB page so best to check, if anyone's planning on going.

Oh, that's a pity. I hope that doesn't repeat itself through the summer, but thanks for posting it.

Not quite Cheshire, but the "do" at the Wharf Tavern is tomorrow night, Thursday 13th.

Kelsall Steam Rally is on this weekend, not far from Chester. Hoping to pop over for a look on one day.
