I wonder if any of us will keep a car that long and pass it down through the family?

I'd like to think my kids will keep one or two.

I'm hoping that my A40 will stick around after I'm gone, it was bought new by my great aunt and uncle in 1960, and passed to us when he gave up driving in 1987 (just prior to me using it to pass my test in). So hopefully it won't be going anywhere.

My son (25) already claimed the TR4 that I bought when he was 1 year old. A bit surprising seeing he has no interests in classic cars (but loves driving the TR4).

I would have loved taking over one of the actual cars my father owned - the Citroen Ami, the Glas 1204, the Peugeot 404 Familiale or the Triumph 2500TC.
He had others but if they were given to me I would sell them off (Opel Rekord B Estate, Mitsubishi Galant, 3 Toyotas, Mitsubishi Space Star, Renault Vel Satis)
