Hi all,

Yesterday we popped over to Audlem's Festival of Transport, as we've done regularly over recent years. This time it was the Volvo's turn, in part because I was keen to try it out in very unfavourable conditions, and in part because it has a snug, cosy, metal roof.

As predicted, a stubborn band of heavy rain sat resolutely over the middle of England for much of the weekend, and barely let up in dropping the wet stuff over anyone unfortunate enough to be underneath.

Here are a few photos anyway, nearly all were taken while plodding around in the rain under leaden skies, camera in one hand, brolly blowing about in the other. Despite the miserable weather, there was a good turnout of support for the show's organisers, and for the members of the public who donned their raincoats and ventured outside to check out the venerable machinery cluttering up their village for a brief moment in time.

Looks like a good show despite the weather. Love the old Field Marshall.

Yes the Marshall was running for much of the time, a wonderful old machine. That and the Riley 2.6 were probably the highlights for me, neither of which I've seen before.

That looks like quite a wet place to be. I did Audlem a few years ago when it rained quite a bit, it's the only thing you can't do anything about unfortunately.
