NS Inner Arch/Tappets/AGDO
Rick,
Thanks for the welcome back, it does feel GOOD!
4th February I had occasion to use the 111 service as I thought I was passing kidney stones due to the pain in my left kidney, but not the writhing on the floor type that my Nephew experienced when he had stones.
The OOHs doctor turned up after 2 hours and diagnosed a severe waterworks infection. The PH strip was bright red.
It took three lots of antibiotics, the last a different lot that did the trick.
It was then 6 trips to hospital over the next 3 months, the last being overnight, for all sorts of tests and scans.
All where negative thank goodness, BUT the whole experience had a rather negative effect on me in that I lost interest in just about everything due to loosing any 'get up and go' energy.
That was THE most frustrating part during the months that followed, and only now am I coming back to being 'normal'.
Another update and the last for a while.
Missed these with the NS rear inner arch
Grinding Tappets
The valve stems had made a perfectly round indentation in them that would make it nigh on impossible to set the gaps.
Something had to be done, and not having either a surface grinder or a working toolpost grinder (I need to sort it out) I came up with the perfect Heath Robinson method.
I used my high speed drilling machine and Dremel type grinding wheel, and slowly moving the vice backwards and forwards.
After finishing on the drilling machine I finished off with a few rubs on the fine diamond abrasive.
Ready to assemble to see if valve stems making even contact.
Yes they do, and Heath Robinson winning the day once again.
AGDO
(Angle Grinder & Drill Organiser)
I got sick and tired of searching for the one with the correct disk so decided it was high time I pulled finger and did something about it.
I had all the parts and the vice stand pipe was part of the sign.
Rear of sign the perfect spot to hang disks from.
Geoff - That's it for some time folks. _________________ Too many hobbies, not enough time!

Peter,
Yes they are.
Did a test using a file, and it just skated over the surface.
badhuis,
Why do we sometimes take ages to sort things out?!
Geoff - Next video will be the sliced later cylinder block. _________________ Too many hobbies, not enough time!

NS B-Post repair.
NS Flitch Panel
Patch cut out
Was getting ready to do the necessary with bits of metal to do the repair, when it all came to a shuddering halt!

Had tilted the car to where it was comfortable to work on the NS Flitch plate, then some 10 minutes later found myself in an Ambulance with Blues & Twos going full bore.
25 odd minutes later, I wasn’t keeping count, I was in the CCU Theatre at NNUH for an emergency stent.
I have always had a morbid curiosity as to what it was like to be in an Ambulance with lights and siren going, and being fully awake found it quite interesting, and can only give a thumbs up at the way the lady Paramedic driver performed in getting the Ambulance through traffic with little discomfort to me.
Only once did she have to brake really hard, no doubt due to some moron driver.
Road noise drowned the siren a number of times
The episode took place on the 31 July, was back home on the 6th so in recovery mode, BUT feeling quite well considering.
The number of tablets I now have to take is eye popping, so had to buy a week organiser for AM/PM otherwise utter chaos would have resulted.
Geoff - Took the wrong tablets once, before the organiser arrived 🤗 |

A lucky escape Geoff. Only a couple of days ago I received word of a friend the same age as me who had died of a heart attack. We used to go hill walking together and he appeared totally fit and healthy. A real shock and a timely reminder that health can very rapidly go wrong without warning. I will be attending his funeral next week.

Geoff,
What a crazy coincidence, I was in my garage plodding about yesterday and it crossed my mind that we hadn’t heard from you in a while and here you are. I hope you have a speedy recovery and return with your reports in the fullness of time.
Best regards

Hi Geoff, just take things easy and do as the doctor says and I'm sure you will be fine and probably feeling better than you had before the stents, I had 3 stents in 2003 and 4 stents again in 2013 and I definitely felt a lot better after than I had in the few months before. Good luck and keep positive.

Thanks for all the good wishes 👍
For some time, body had been doing its utmost to warn me something wasn’t right, and after I stupidly refused to acknowledge it, it resorted to the drastic kick up the arse that got my attention in so uncertain manner.
Geoff - Sitting on my backside nearly all day is really p*ssing me off! |
